Changes to the validity of Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Individuals can no longer submit an edition of Form I-693 signed on or after November 1, 2023. Versions of Form I-693 already submitted aren’t subject to the validity changes and will still be process. If the Form I-693 application is withdrawn or denied after being submitted, applicants must submit a current version.
Form I-693 is a supplemental application form submitted along with Form I-485, or Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. USCIS will reject adjustment of status applications without it. Applicants must fill out and submit a new Form I-683 each time they apply for an adjustment of status.
Some individuals are required to submit a partial Form I-693. These groups are:
- Refugees and derivative asylees that’ve already completed a medical examination conducted by a panel physician outside the United States.
- Noncitizens admitted to the U.S. as a spouse or child of a spouse, of a U.S. citizen, fiancée or child of fiancé of a U.S. citizen who’ve already completed a medical examination conducted by a panel physician outside the United States.
- Afghan nationals arriving under Operation Allies Welcome who’ve already completed a medical examination conducted by a panel physician outside the United States.
Immigrants subject to inadmissibility on health-related grounds must have medical examination to demonstrate that inadmissibility. All variants of Form I-693 must be signed by a qualified civil surgeon. Individuals applying for an adjustment of status and haven’t submitted a variant of Form I-693 should make sure the application is still valid before submission.
